“Flashy and convincing, with wonderful accents, resounding details and fine tempi”

- Allegiance on Benjamin Perry Wenzelberg and O18c in Le nozze di Figaro (2025)

Experience the music of Joseph Haydn as rarely heard. After the success of 2025, the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century will once again play an opera by Haydn: Il mondo della luna. His operatic works are (unfairly) less well known than his symphonies or string quartets, and are a true musical discovery not often heard. The Orchestra excels in Haydn's music, bringing this scintillating comedy to life with audible playing pleasure 250 years after its premiere at Esterházy Palace in present-day Hungary.

Musical direction is in the hands of Benjamin Perry Wenzelberg, artistic partner of O18c, who has previously conducted operas by Haydn and Mozart with verve with the orchestra.

The cast consists of talented young singers from the Dutch National Opera Academy, directed by Anja Kühnhold
