We are very glad and honored to present conductor Jakob Lehmann as our new Artistic Partner. Jakob has been working with the orchestra since the Bremen Musikfest 2023 and has conducted us on multiple occasions including a concert in Valencia and an alternative passion tour in 2025, as well as working on Schubert in the Side by Side program with the Royal Conservatoire in 2024. In 2027 he will conduct two Beethoven programs in major halls all over the Netherlands and on the radio, and we are presently looking together at further projects.
Jakob Lehmann:
“I’m thrilled to deepen my relationship with O18C, an orchestra I enjoy working with greatly. Our past projects have been shaped by a shared commitment to combining stylistic and historical research with performances of conviction and emotional honesty, and I’m excited to explore all this further in the future.”
Kate Rockett:
”Jakob is one of the most interesting, independent-thinking and talented young conductors on the HIP scene today. The work he is doing on performance practice of 19th century music is revelatory, the evidence-based side of his work being matched by a deep musicality and a joy of exploration. This approach makes for an excellent match with the orchestra and we are delighted to be able to strengthen our relationship with Jakob in this way”
Welcome Jakob!!
